Police frees suspects caught with corpse of three-year-old via @iKanzee_RR

The Abia State Police Command has freed two
suspects, Chibuike Anibuife , 25, and Jonathan
Nwogu, 45, reportedly caught at Osisioma
Junction, Aba, with a corpse of a three- year-
old girl.
According to the Police Public Relations
Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, of the Command’s
headquarters in Umuahia that the suspects
had been thoroughly investigated and found to
be innocent.
Ogbonna said the corpse was genuinely
handed over to them by the father of the
deceased for for burial.
Vanguard reported last week on how the
suspects were apprehended when they were
trying to bury the corpse in an abandoned pit
in Osisioma, near Aba.
The middle-aged suspects are Jonathan
Nwogu from Mgboko Umuola in Obingwa Local
Government Area of the state and Chibuike
Anubuife from Ezeagu Local Government Area
of Enugu State.
They were caught at Enyimba filling station
near Ariaria International, Aba while trying to
take the girl’s corpse in a sack for burial.
The state’s Commandant of the Nigeria
Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Andy
Dateer, had last week paraded the suspects,
saying his men on patrol rescued the men
from being lynched by a curious mob at Aba,
when the content of the sack was discovered
to be the lifeless body of a child.
